WRYC Hamilton – IOM Club Comp
Hamilton’s IOM sailing for the 15th Jan saw a field of 8 boats entered for the day. The weather was promising showery conditions, of which thankfully most stayed clear and sailing proceeded with a blustery westerly.
Most boats entered the water with “A” rigs fitted but soon afterwards everyone changed down to” B” rigs. The westerly produced challenging conditions on the first reach and then had boat charging hard on the downhill runs which made for entertaining racing particularly at the buoy roundings.
A lot of the boats were running their “B” rigs for the first time, which saw rapid tweaking between races.
Carl Smith and Richard Batchelor produced a great display of sailing and Carl looking as he is well on with sorting his new DM2 with several first placings.
12 races were run for the day. Many thanks to the visitors for traveling over to join in our racing. Everyone is most welcome and we look forward to more participation from other clubs at our lake.
Cheers Nigel
